The chemical-distribution industry requires practices that are both vital and complicated. New regulations, environmental breakthroughs and purchasing options continually change the dynamics of this industry. The key, however, to maximizing opportunities during fluctuation is better understanding the many factors of the arena in which you work. For chemical-distribution professionals, attending ChemEdge (formerly OPSEM), which will be taking place August 19-22 in Nashville, Tennessee, is a great way to do just that.
This annually held conference aims to educate and train individuals on the many different issues relevant to chemical distribution, chemical manufacturing, chemical warehouse regulation and service support. Some of the many topics that will be discussed during the conference include regulatory compliance, inventory control, emergency responses, human resources and financing. Individuals also have the opportunity to learn best practices in regards to the environment, health, safety, transportation, logistics and security.
Professionals from many different facets of the industry show up for ChemEdge, giving attendees exposure to the best and brightest of chemical distribution. This year’s event will boast industry decision makers from the areas of EHS&S (environmental, health, safety and sustainability), chemical transportation, chemical operations, distribution-code coordination and chemical-manufacturing representation. Chemical emergency, community and government agency personnel will also be present. And, you can expect to see Huffmaster at Booth 202 among many chemical-industry leaders.
This year’s exhibit roster will also include companies such as Basco, Hoover Container Solutions, NSF International and the Water Quality Association – to name a few.
All exhibits will be located inside the Omni Nashville Hotel, 250 5th Avenue South. Members of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) receive a special hotel rate of $170 per night (make sure to mention that you are a member of NACD when booking your room).
